Baroness Jill Pitkeathley, who speaks on Carers issues in the House of Lords, has been Patron of Herefordshire Carers Support since 2009. She has been campaigning for greater recognition of Carers for over 20 years, becoming Chief Executive of the National Council for Carers, now called Carers UK, in 1986. She was made a life peer in 1997.
Since becoming Patron of HCS Baroness Pitkeathley has delivered the key note address at the Herefordshire Carers Rights Day (held at the end of November), bringing news of the latest policy trends direct from Parliament.
Work in the House of Lords
