Volunteer Counsellor with Herefordshire Carers Support
As a member of the BACP, I am a qualified counsellor currently volunteering at Herefordshire Carers Support. I trained at Herefordshire and Ludlow College where I am now currently a tutor.
I do face-to-face Person Centred Counselling. This approach believes that through the therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client, the client can explore their concerns in a supportive, non-judgemental atmosphere. As counsellor, I respectfully listen to clients tell their unique story, helping them to understanding themselves and their situation better and explore what they think they need to do to make changes in their lives.
Being a Carer can be particularly challenging and counselling can help address concerns such as anxiety, depression, addictions, past problems, relationships issues, exhaustion, and/or not feeling heard, respected or valued.
