Improving mental health in Herefordshire

Herefordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Herefordshire Council and 2gether NHS Foundation Trust are looking at what is needed to help Herefordshire people keep mentally and emotionally well.  They will be assessing what is required by :

  • Finding out what service users, carers and professionals think
  • Looking at the statistics to find out “what works”
  •  “Mapping” of what services currently exist and where they are based
  • Making decisions about how resources should be used in the future

The project team has set up a dedicated website for the project where you can find out more and give your views.  The  team will be making contact with service users, carers and clinicians directly and through various Herefordshire organisations and employers, local newspapers and visits to services, forums, schools and colleges. There will also be opportunities for the families of service-users to contribute.   Click here to go to the Shaping Mental Health Services in Herefordshire website.

NHS England is undertaking a similar project to improve the mental health of children and young people.  A charity called YoungMinds wants to hear what parents and carers think about current services and how they can be improved.  To register for the project click here.
