CARERS RIGHTS DAY 2014 – Have you booked your place?

Make sure you know your rights as a Carer – IF YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO MAKE ONE EVENT THIS YEAR, MAKE SURE THIS IS THE ONE!!!!

With a general election due next year this is the perfect opportunity for Carers to put their questions directly to the main political parties. PLEASE NOTE: Named speakers from the various political parties may be subject to change.

We have invited representatives from all the main political parties to each give a five minute presentation about their future plans for Carers and then answer your questions in an open discussion, chaired by Baroness Jill Pitkeathley.

We are also delighted to once again welcome Luke Clements to the discussion. Luke is Professor at Cardiff Law School and Director of the Centre for Health and Social Care Law; as well as representing disabled and older people and their Carers, Luke’s work includes assisting with cases at the European Court of Human Rights.

Each year more and more people become Carers, not always through choice and many don’t even identify themselves as a Carer and therefore miss out on the support available. Even those who have been caring for years sometimes aren’t aware of their entitlements.

If you are caring for a family member or friend in Herefordshire then come along and find out about Herefordshire Carers Support.

GP and GP Practice Awards

During the event we will be announcing our Herefordshire Carers Support GP and GP practice Awards – come and find out who Carers have voted for.

To book your place, call Herefordshire Carers Support on 01432 356068

If you are unable to attend and would like to ask a question we can raise it on your behalf and notify you of the response.  Please do not hesitate to contact a member of staff.
