Does your GP know that you are a Carer?

Picture1It is important to register as a Carer with your GP Practice.  Ask for it to be recorded on your Medical Records and their Carers Register.

Even if you are at a different practice to the person you carer for – register at your surgery, this will make sure that your caring role and responsibilities are recognised and considered, maybe offering home visits where possible, more convenient appointment times etc.

GPs will automatically call all carers on their register for a free annual flu jab.

award-ribbon-06You can now nominate your GP or the GP Practice online for this year’s GP and GP Practice Awards.

When family Carers are well supported by their GP and the staff at the Practice it makes a world of difference.

We want to continue to raise the profile of Carers in GP Practices and to remind them how key Carers are and that the support, or lack of, from GPs and GP Practices can have a massive impact on Carers’ lives.  We also want to celebrate some of the great things happening in our local GP Practices.
Please take a few minutes to complete 6 short questions to tell us how your GP and their Practice Team does/doesn’t offer you support as a Carer.

Nominations close Friday 27 October 2017. Results will be announced at Carers Rights Day and our AGM on Friday 24 November 2017.
