Carers Rights Day 2011 - Carers Shaping Services
Carers Rights Day 2011 was another dynamic event which brought together Commissioners from Herefordshire Council and NHS, Councillors and experts on Care to debate Carers Issues. Question Time was expertly Chaired by Herefordshire Carers Support's Patron, Baroness Jill Pitkeathley.
The day also saw the launch of the Herefordshire Carers Charter which was endorsed by the Wye Valley NHS Trust and warmly welcomed by the 2Gether NHS Trust.
International Harpist, Bethan Myfanwy Hughes closed the event with a musical treat for Carers over lunch time.

Carers Rights Day 2010 - Information Day Report
Herefordshire Carers Support marked Carers Rights Day 2010 by holding an Information Event for Carers in the Kindle Centre.
In keeping with the theme of the day 'the right to make informed choices'; the audience heard about the latest legislative trends from Baroness Pitkeathley, local changes to Health and Social Care from Alan Dawson in the morning. This was followed in the afternoon with presentations on Telecare. After both sessions the audience were able to ask questions.
We have prepared a report of the event which you can download here. If you would like a printed copy posted to you please contact our main office.
You can also view the four presentations from the information event.
Alan Dawson's focuses on the creation of an integrated care organisation in Herefordshire, under one management structure combining community, acute and social care.
Jim Ellam and Elizabeth Wilkinson's presentations contain useful information about various Telecare aids, whilst Jo Hart's presentation focuses on how Telecare is being used in Herefordshire.
We are currently planning our next event, 'Invest in Imagination' independence using assistive technology, which will be held on 1 April 2011 at Point 4 in Hereford.
