Those of you who are registered as a Carer with Herefordshire Carers Support will know that our Carer’s I Count Card is one of the ways in which we try to raise the awareness and recognition of unpaid Carers. The I Count Card entitles you to a discount from the businesses who have signed up to the scheme. These currently include therapists, solicitors, mobile hairdresser, equipment and aids as well as entrance fees to national and local leisure facilities, cinemas and theatres.
We are always looking to extend the list of discounts and are also keen to further enhance our Short-Breaks database; intended to give Parent Carers information about places to stay, things to do, holidays, short breaks etc. which have carer-friendly facilities.
We are looking for someone who could spare a few hours to contact the providers on our Short-Breaks database to see if they would be willing to join the I Count scheme – and offer some form of discount for our registered Carers.
If you think this is something you would like to help us with, the number of hours and when you work them would be entirely up to you – and you can choose whether you come into the office with the rest of the team, or work from home.
We are looking for volunteers to help us on bag-packing days, handing out information at events or special event days when we have face painting, craft activities and entertainment. If you are able to spare a couple of hours and would like to help us to raise funds to support family Carers, please call us on 01432 356068 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Herefordshire Young Carers help children and young people across the county who care for a family member with a long term illness or disability.
Could you make a difference to young people in your area?
We’re currently looking for volunteers to help at our young carer clubs in Hereford and Ross on Wye.
If you can spare an evening every other week to help Young Carers have fun, develop new skills and meet their full potential then we would love to hear from you. No previous experience necessary, just enthusiasm and an affinity with young people. If this sounds like you please contact us today on 01432 356068

Anyone over the age of 18 can join us and the great thing about volunteering is that it’s so flexible. You can fit it around all of the other things that you have to do. Whether you can spare a few hours once a week or fortnight, or can give a couple of days each month we will have an opportunity for you. The HCS enquiry line is available between 09:00 – 17:00 weekdays (except Friday 09:00 – 16:30) so volunteers must also be available during these hours. You will also be reimbursed for ‘out-of-pocket’ expenses.
If you are interested or have any questions, please do get in touch with Rachel on 01432 356068.
We look forward to hearing from you!
